L&S: Art Issue
Published in: L&S
I directed, edited, wrote bits of and oversaw the production of the first art issue of Mexican mens’ magazine L&S in November 2007; 65 pages of content on contemporary art, written by top journalists, critics, curators and artists from around the globe.
Contributors and topics included:
- Michele Faguet on Venezuelan art under Chavez
- Gabriella Gómez-Mont on artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer
- Pablo Helguera on the Jumex Collection director Abaseh Mirvali
- Ana Elena Mallet on Mexico’s staggering dearth of art critics
- Christian Vivenos-Fauné and Edward Winkleman on what “royalty” really means in the artworld
- An article I wrote on intellectual property and art (on this site under the link “¿Quien tiene derecho a qué?”)
- Patricia Mendoza on contemporary Mexican photography
- Adam Critchley on contemporary Chinese art
- An interview I did with renowned American art-etc. writer Dave Hickey
- Daniela Pérez on curator Patrick Charpenel
