AmigosPublished in: The Virginia Quarterly Review
A little late here, but my long essay-slash-profile of a young Cuban woman named Sandra was in the Spring issue of the Virginia Quarterly Review, now free online (limited time!).
It’s a modified version of what’s coming in my first book, The Other Side of Paradise, about young Havanans in today’s distinctly in-between time: Fidel, Raul, whatever’s next, and the last generation of Cubans raised under el comandante, wedged in the middle. It’s out in April. More info to come soon.
